Older Americans Month at St. Luke Means Celebrating Life’s Stories
May is National Older Americans Month and we are marking this occasion with special events and activities. The theme, “Celebrating Life’s Stories” pays homage to the diverse set of perspectives that residents, families and staff bring to everyday interactions.
In keeping with our theme, we will be sharing collected narratives on many of our residents’ most significant life events, relationships and experiences to cultivate a shared sense of purpose at the center and in the surrounding community.
Our resident narratives can be read while on the display board between our Chapel and Rehab department. You will find narratives that are humorous, heartwarming and true to the wonderful people who helped shape our community.
Older Americans Month celebrations will include a number of special entertainers who will be visiting. Among our special guests will be The Martin Family Band; Kelly Burch; Brian Caswell and Tommy Barr to name just a few. We will also be hosting picnics and outings in keeping with the season—it should be a great time of year to get out and about!
Please be sure to help us celebrate with our residents by joining in all the wonderful things taking place this month across our campus.
