St. Luke Hosts Second Annual Wound and Skin Care Carnival This Friday April 26
The Second Annual St. Luke Wound and Skin Care Carnival will be held on Friday, April 26th from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Riverview Room at St. Luke Health Services. This event is free and open to the public.
“We invite everyone to come and participate in our second annual event as their schedules allow,” said Brandi Durval, RN, organizer. All staff attending, Durval noted, will receive an hour in-service credit.
Educational games and prizes for attendees will teach about skin care, wound prevention and healing in a fun and engaging manner. There will be vendors on hand to discuss their products for skin care and wound healing and most of them are bringing samples of their products for us to try.
St. Luke's Therapy Department will have an educational booth with products we use for pressure redistribution and the modalities we have available for wound healing. The Nutrition Department will also be doing a booth highlighting the importance of proper nutrition for wound healing.
All St. Luke Family of Caring staff are encouraged to attend this fun and informative event. Learn about preventing pressure ulcers, why skin creams and barriers are important to our skin, and what happens to our skin as we age.
Thanks and we look forward to seeing everyone!
